Riot Jazz- New Fuel For The Community

The latest addition to the Operation Rebel Community Radio lineup is Riot Jazz, a new weekly show that seeks to highlight and exhibit the arts, and spark community conversations around them. Riot Jazz is hosted by yakuza moon, a poet, rapper and teaching artist from Detroit. He’s an Illuminate graduate, slam champion, widely published and working on his first manuscript Grawlix. Riot Jazz offers a wide array of programming, from weekly writing prompts and poetry readings, to artist interviews and local music.

Dr. Monica White returned home to deliver a powerful lecture during the 3 Dope SiStars Lecture Series hosted by the Detroit Black Community Food Security Network (DBCFSN). Dr. White is a published author of the book “Freedom Farmers” that is now available for purchase. Dr. White is originally from Detroit and former chair of DBCFSN.
